Therapy Services Provided

ADULTS

Therapy is a different kind of conversation than one you have with friends.  It is a place to explore and and understand what is going on below the surface.  You may come to therapy with something very specific to focus on or it may just be that things don’t feel right in your life.  Often, there are conflicts that we may not be fully aware of or old styles of coping that get in our way and cause suffering.  I will work with you to understand your experiences and together we will get at the root of what is preventing you from living how you want to live.  Understanding your strengths is another important part of helping you better understand yourself and become more proactive and engaged in your life.

ADOLESCENTS

Being a teenager is a time of intense change, excitement, growth and confusion.   It can be also be time of increased social, family and academic pressure.   I work with teens (and their parents, when appropriate) to help them understand what they need, how to express their feelings and how to cope with difficult emotions and life situations.

MY APPROACH IN WORK WITH ADULTS AND ADOLESCENTS

I have expertise in a number of different therapeutic approaches and will tailor my approach to that which best suits your needs.  A few approaches that I draw from are psychodynamic, relational and mindfulness approaches.  I also use evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based CBT, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) modalities for specific issues.
